ASSEJAZZ is committed to the idea that a cultural ecosystem is sustainable and that its highest expression is live music, so our commitment is to promote multiple scenarios, where the interaction between diverse audiences and creative musical projects, which have adopted the jazz as a vehicle of expression, is possible and everyday. After years of work, ASSEJAZZ currently plays an important role in promoting jazz musical culture, contributing to the growth of professionals and cultural industries, and of course creating and consolidating for people who are passionate about jazz, an attractive and stable offer of live music, a growing training activity and a careful space for the exhibition and exhibition of creative projects generated in Andalusia and also at the national and international level.
ASSEJAZZ has been able to build a fresh and stimulating offer that grows and involves a growing number of artists and audiences, who enjoy our activities in equal parts.
One of the largest activities that ASSEJAZZ organizes annually is its Jazz Festival. In total ASSEJAZZ has developed nine editions. The first four (2013-2016) alone and the last five (2017-2021) with the University of Seville, thanks to a collaboration agreement, which from its 20th Edition, decided the organization jointly with ASSEJAZZ. In this way, the last five years (2017-2019) the Festival is renamed "University Festival / ASSEJAZZ". Top-level international and national figures pass through it.
ASSEJAZZ develops a wide range of training activities, such as Courses, Workshops, Masterclasses and other activities such as conferences, aimed at very diverse audiences, from artists, or people interested in knowing the expressive keys of jazz music.
One of the most important concerns of ASSEJAZZ is to offer the performers of the Association and the general public in general, specialized training that allows closer contact with performers with greater experience or with a variety of projects, taking advantage of their time in programming ASSEJAZZ. They are organized in the form of Masterclasses.
ASSEJAZZ keeps the ASSEJAZZ BIG BAND active as its own project to promote a learning space for young performers.
The Association promotes and maintains its own Big Band: “ASSEJAZZ BIG BAND” with growing activity and programming throughout the year. It also collaborates with the "ANDALUCÍA BIG BAND" of which several of our musicians are part.
ASSEJAZZ ha impulsado el desarrollo de una serie de alianzas con diferentes instituciones de la ciudad de Sevilla, que nos ha permitido ofrecer una oferta estable de conciertos de calidad a lo largo de todo el año y desde luego un escenario para que los/las artistas puedan dar a conocer sus proyectos. Esa red de sinergias permite crear espacios de colaboración para plantear nuevos retos que incrementen la oferta cultural que podemos ofrecer a la ciudadanía desde el ámbito público y asociativo. Por lo tanto las alianzas establecidas con el ICAS (Instituto de la Cultura y las Artes del Ayuntamiento de Sevilla), el CICUS (Centro de Iniciativas Culturales de la Universidad de Sevilla), la UNIA (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía), el CAAC (Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo) y la Fundación Pública Andaluza Barenboim-Said persiguen ese objetivo que es finalmente enriquecer la oferta cultural de nuestra ciudad.
